The Estate

Our 4,250 acres estate, nestled in the glorious North Wessex Downs, has sustainability at its heart.

Faccombe Estates is set in over four thousand acres of countryside, in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the North Wessex Downs, in rural Hampshire.

Our land has many uses including mixed farming, forestry, making sustainable wood pellets for energy, a prestigious shooting operation, a manor house, housing for local residents and we even have a friendly local!

Looking after our environment is essential, in fact, it’s at the heart of everything we do and has been ever since we installed one of the first privately owned wind turbines back in the early 90’s.

As we get ever closer to having net-zero carbon emissions we look at every area of the Estate and consider how we can make it more sustainable and how we can manage it for the future. We want to make sure we safeguard this beautiful part of the world for many years to come, so even more people can enjoy it.

The Community

We are incredibly proud of our friendly community at Faccombe who support our goal to maintain the estate, whilst embracing a sense of responsibility to protect our environment for the future.

From our tenants, farmers and employees, to our visitors, we want everyone to enjoy their time here, as well as to support our commitment to a sustainable, low carbon community.

“Sustainability has to be at the heart of what we do on the Estate, it’s an evolution not a revolution. There are learnings from the past that can compliment the discoveries of the future.”

The Jack Russell Inn

A rural, award winning Hampshire pub, the foundations of which have sat in the heart of our community for over seven hundred years. You can settle in at the bar and enjoy a selection of locally sourced products, or simply put your feet up next to a cosy fire pit with your favourite canine companion.

An eight bedroom lodge complete with lounge and outdoor fire pit provides the perfect accommodation for those visiting for either a wedding, a shoot or simply a brief respite from the urban hullabaloo.

The Jack Russell uses wood pellets from our forests, chipped and pressed at our plant, whilst the wind turbine provides the energy, supporting our net-zero emissions goal.

If you’re interested in experiencing a cosy, country escape and some delicious local dining, do not hesitate to visit the Jack Russell website and contact our team directly.

Housing

faccombe-estate-estate-houses

Our commitment to the future extends to our community and environment, by providing sustainable homes for families in Hampshire. The 35 rented homes in Faccombe Village are currently undergoing a refurbishment to ensure they are as future-fit as possible for our tenants.

We are making changes to ensure each home has high energy performance certification. We are supplying a more efficient broadband connection, installing cavity and loft insulation and replacing all the windows. We are even replacing 50 chimneys!

Energy is provided by our 500kw wind turbine and our 250kw solar panels. We are gradually converting the homes to biomass heating, which will use the wood pellets we produce on the Estate.

“Faccombe is a beautiful place to work with a good team. We realise how lucky we are to be living here, especially after the recent pandemic. ”
